Anil Gurung playing for Shillolng Lajong, India
There are many talented players in Nepal but only three of them are playing abroad in professional league. Among them are star striker Anil Gurung who plays for North East favourite team of India Shillong Lajong which got relegated this season from India’s premier league I-league. Similarly newly promoted to I-league Bangalore team HAL recruited Nepal’s top defender Rohit Chand. On a similar note, Nepal’s impressive midfielder Sandip Rai joined Indian second division and Calcutta Premier League’s top club Mohammed Sporting Club.
We wish all of the very best of luck. And we hope Nepal’s other star players such as Jumanu Rai, Santosh Sauhkhal, Nirajan Malla, Nirazan Khadka, Bikash Mall could play abroad preferably crossing the sub-continent to some Middle East countries or in Thailand or Malaysia.
